Emily Was Here — Brooklyn Bridge Experience
A poetic, GPS‑triggered audio walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. Voiceover, poetry, and ambient sound transform the crossing into an intimate narrative.

"Explores low‑friction, site‑specific storytelling that scales to city landmarks without heavy reliance on the device in the user's hand."
How it Works
A geospatial audio engine that triggers sound based on GPS radius, utilizing a React Native frontend and a Firebase real-time backend for creator updates.
- 1GPS‑triggered audio walk route.
- 2Narrative script and voiceover recordings.
- 3Ambient soundscapes layered for immersion.
- 4Route pacing and trigger radius design.
Designing the Interface
The landing page was to built excitement for the experience and be a web purchasing experience integrated with the mobile app. The app experience was built on my app Chalknotes. I had to improve the app for this custom experience that lasted 2 hours. Designing for a seamless audio walk required careful consideration of pacing and environmental context. I mapped the route to identify natural pauses and scenic viewpoints, ensuring that audio triggers aligned with moments of visual interest. The UX prioritized minimal screen interaction, allowing users to focus on the auditory experience while navigating the bridge safely.
